DIY Honey Face Mask Recipe

Not only does Lili’s New Zealand Honey taste delicious, it also can be used in many different ways, such as this quick, easy and healthy face mask. The properties of this raw natural honey leaves your skin feeling fresh and smooth like never before.

  • 1 tbsp of Lili’s New Zealand Honey (because it’s the best, of course)
  • 1 tbsp coarse brown sugar (white is also ok)
  • 1 tsp of lemon juice

Start by mixing together the honey, sugar and lemon juice in a ramekin or something similar that comes in handy. You can use a teaspoon to gently fold the ingredients together as you still want a bit of texture to your mask.

Apply directly to a clean, dry face with your fingers. Try not to lick it too much because as it happens, this honey mask is also delicious. Let me tell you, for someone who has a sweet tooth, this mask is a real menace to my self control.

Alas, we go on. It should feel a little grainy on your skin. Scrub your face gently going in a circular outward motion over cheeks, temples, forehead AND neck, if you wish.

You can wash it off immediately or leave it on for 15-20 minutes as it hydrates your skin. I, myself, leave it on because who wouldn’t want a nicely hydrated, plump and healthy looking face? Am I right ladies and the blokes who want that dewy, fresh morning look?

This honey mask helps clarify and leave behind smoother, softer skin. Rinse off with warm water or a moist face towel if you’ve done the neck and you don’t want your bathroom to end up like the aftermath of a face cleanser commercial. Can you imagine if I washed my face with that much splash every morning? It sure seems like fun though…

Anyway, I digress. Once your face is clean and dry be sure to take a moment to appreciate just how smooth it is. Your cheeks will love you for it and you’ll be running around the house asking your loved ones (pets too, yes) to feel how smooth your cheeks are. Nope? Just me? Oh well… Enjoy gals and guys! x

PS: You can store what’s left of the mixture in a small airtight container and place it in a cool, dry spot indefinitely. I make mine in larger batches sometimes by doubling or quadrupling the recipe and I am yet to find an expiry date for it. Honey with its medicinal properties will help extend the mixture’s shelf life.

You can imagine Lili’s Honey face mask will take you around 5 minutes to create and apply. Therefore there are no excuses and we would love to hear your feedback once you’ve tried.
